KM Roofing Edinburgh – our roofers are carrying out slating work in Morningside, Edinburgh. Pictured below is a detail of a lead watergate and cover flashing to a chimney stack with Spanish Cupa Heavy Slate. The slates are double copper nailed as per Cupa Slate specifications along with the recommended headlap, in order to be able to supply the 100 year quarry insurance backed guarantee. The slates are laid onto a breathable underslating membrane by our roofers and securely fastened. All roofing work by KM Roofing Edinburgh. KM Roofing Edinburgh – Here are our roofers laying a built-up flatroof system in Edinburgh. The original roof covering was stripped off to expose the timber roof deck in preparation for the new flatroof covering. The insulation boards have been covered with 2 mm underlay felt and the high performance Polyglass Polyshield green mineral felt is now being laid on top. The slated pitch roof in the background will be overhauled and repaired and the eaves course will be reslated by our roofers. KM Roofing Edinburgh – Below is a polycarbonate opaque double skinned & insulated rooflight fitted by our roofers in Morningside, Edinburgh. The rooflight is fastened with security fixings and cannot be removed. A watergate has been formed by our flatroofers to channel rainwater as can be seen to the lefthand side of the rooflight. The flatroof was insulated and finished in Polyglass Polyshield high performance green mineral felt with a 20 year warranty, AA fire rating and BBA certification. All flatroofing materials supplied by  Polyglass UK and installed by KM Roofing Edinburgh – flatroof specialists. KM Roofing Edinburgh – Here is an example of a lead watergate & cover flashing  on a slated pitch roof installed by our roofers in Bruntsfield, Edinburgh. The main pitch roof was overhauled and reslated in parts using reclaimed best quality West Highland Scotch slate with new lead watergates installed to the chimney stacks. The lead watergate and cover flashing was fixed into a precut raggle and then pointed and sealed with lead grey polysulphide lead mastic. All roofing work by KM Roofing Edinburgh.

KM Roofing Edinburgh – Pictured is an example of perished and decaying roof deck timbers discovered by our roofers on a flatroof in Edinburgh. The chimney and lead flashing had been leaking persistently for a long period of time and along with the flatroof needing replaced the chimney was also re- rendered. The timbers will be cut back and the area treated and sprayed before the new treated roof deck timber is replaced. KM Roofing Edinburgh  undertake all roof timber replacement, joinery & treatment on site ourselves. The flatroof will be refelted by our flatroofers and finished in high performance Polyglass mineral felt with a lead flashing installed around the base of the chimney.
