The client had been experiencing a roof leak at the coping stones at the gable ends on the front elevation of the property due to fissures in the cement skews. The cement skews had been repeatedly coated over and were cracking badly. KM Roofing stripped back the terracotta tiles, cleared the cast iron guttering and removed 2 sections of cast downpipe. The pipe was badly choked after years of debris. After the pipe was rodded and cleared it was water tested to ensure running freely. The cast iron pipe sections were then refitted and sealed along with the gutters, tiles replaced and now problem solved- no more leaks ! ?? The Easdale slate quarry is no longer in operation and the last slates were cut in the 1950’s.
