KM Roofing Edinburgh – Here can be seen the removal and replacement of timber joists and roof deck to a flat roof garage in Edinburgh by KM Roofing. The perished timbers were cut out and disposed of and the area treated with a dual purpose wet/dry rot spray. The wall head above the lintel was rebuilt in brick, new treated timber joists fitted and then a new 18 mm timber roof deck. The garage roof was then refelted with 3 layers of roofing felt by our roofers. The flat roof was finished with Polyglass Polyshield green mineral felt with AA Fire Rating with a 20 year guarantee. KM Roofing stripping a flat roof back to the timber roof decking in Morningside, Edinburgh. To the right hand side of the picture the exposed timber sarking boards are visible, coated with bitumen from previous flat roof coverings. A 4 layer insulated flat roof system will be installed with a green mineral felt capping sheet. All roofing materials supplied by Polyglass UK and fitted by KM Roofing Edinburgh. KM Roofing Edinburgh – Here can be seen the new sections of half round beaded cast iron guttering fitted to the Rosemary tiled turret roof by our roofers. These cast iron gutter sections were bespoke and KM Roofing Edinburgh had these cast specifically for this project. The gutter sections were then under coated and painted to tie in with the rest of the property. KM Roofing Edinburgh – A strip and retile of a pitched roof property by our roofers in Edinburgh. The tiles were stripped off as they were delaminating and dislodging in high winds. The timber sarking was denailed and inspected for decay. A breathable understating membrane was fitted along with timber tile batten and the roof retiled with clay Rosemary tiles. Cast iron gutters were manufactured at the foundry to be fitted around the turret- pictures to follow in next post. All roofing works by KM Roofing Edinburgh. KM Roofing Edinburgh – Today our roofers are investigating a roof leak in Mortonhall, Edinburgh. On inspection heavy moss was lifting the concrete roof tiles and together with damaged and perished underfelt was causing a leak during spells of heavy rain. As power washing is not recommended as a method of cleaning concrete tiles, the tiles were removed, scraped and wire brushed by hand, new underfelt replaced and tiles refitted. Now the concrete roof tiles are sitting correctly in their channels and the rainwater can run off the roof into the guttering. KM Roofing Edinburgh – Here are new uPVC shiplap weatherboards being fitted to a property in Buckstone, Edinburgh by KM Roofing. The original perished and untidy looking timber boards were first removed and will be recycled ??♻️. The new uPVC boards are then securely fastened to the timber straps by our roofers with associated trims. The client was looking for a smart looking, maintenance free alternative to timber and the end result is most pleasing.
